Was Joan Jett considered "hot" at the time?

This is a bit of an old school question, but I just watched a Joan Jett video from the 80s and IDK what to make of her look. It could go either way. I was wondering if anyone knows whether she was considered "hot" in the 80s or not based on her looks. I know she's a total bad ass, legend, pioneer and all that. I'm just talking looks wise.
