In the Southern Hemisphere, blue light points are visible above the Telescopium constellation in winter. This bright star-like point of light in the sky is basically two stars orbiting in close orbit, accompanied by a black hole very close to our earth. This information has been informed in a report of National Geographic on Wednesday.

This research article was recently published in the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Researchers say the newly discovered black hole is 1,011 light-years away from our solar system. It is located in the HR6819 solar system. This invisible object is trapped between two visible stars. It is thought to be about four times the mass of the Sun and about 2,500 light-years from the next black hole.

Karim al-Badri, an astronomer at the University of California, Berkeley, said it appeared to be hidden from view. Although research has been done on this bright star since the eighties, there were some surprising things hidden in it.

Called the nearest black hole to Earth, on a human scale, a thousand light-years is a huge distance. However, if the Milky Way galaxy is measured on a scale, then the distance between the Sun and the Earth is a hair's breadth and the distance between that black hole is four kilometers. However, considering the vastness of the universe, which spans more than a million light-years, the HR6819 is quite close to Earth.

Researchers have long speculated that the Milky Way is home to millions of black holes. But it is hard to find. The researchers found out its position by observing the gravitational effect of the surrounding object.

What is a black hole?

A black hole is a place where something enters and never comes back. Even light cannot pass through this hole.

Although it is known as a hole, it is not a whole empty space in a black hole. Rather, there are so many heavy objects in so few places that they produce intense gravitational force.

Behind the black hole is a place called 'Event Horizon', which is called 'Point of No Return'. The gravitational force in this place is so intense that nothing can come back from here.
