Iran is making it compulsory to wear a mask

Iran has been one of the worst-affected countries since the outbreak of the global pandemic coronavirus. This time, the country will make it mandatory to wear a mask from July 5 to prevent the spread of the virus.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made the announcement on Sunday.

Corona infections are on the rise in the country. Another 144 people died there. The death toll continues to rise across the country. That is why such a decision has been taken.

Rouhani told Iran's anti-virus task force that wearing a mask would be mandatory for two weeks, starting July 5. This restriction will apply where there is a public meeting. If necessary, it will be implemented in August, he said.

On Sunday, health ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Larry said 2,489 more corona patients had been identified in the country. With this, the number of victims in the country has increased to 220k people.

Rouhani said 2020 was the most difficult year for Iran in terms of the economic crisis caused by sanctions and the virus. However, he said the country would work together to tackle the problem.
